Lake Cumberland Area Development District is Hiring an Accountant Near Russell, KY
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; no previous work experience requirements.
- Additional work experience, preferably in fund accounting, may be substituted for education requirements on a year-for-year basis up to maximum of two years.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains separate general ledger charts of accounts.
- Processes invoices for all departments; codes invoices to proper grant elements; inputs relative information; matches invoices to purchase orders; follows-up on problems related to invoices; prints checks and related reports.
- Reviews timesheets; processes and prints payroll.
- Assists with maintaining employee files.
- Assists with maintaining vacation/sick leave accruals and usage.
- Creates and maintains financial records for individual programs.
- Reconciles banks statements.
- Makes bank deposits as often as necessary.
- Sets-up grants, genreal ledger accounts, and update budgets as needed.
- Assists public with phone inquiries.
- Drafts general office correspondence, assist staff with day-to-day problems.
- Types and fills out miscellaneous forms, labels, etc; sets up and maintains files and records.
- Performs related duties as required.
We serve as regional planning agencies, forums, clearinghouses, technical centers and as conveners for the region while administering numerous federal, state and local programs. Unlike many other organizations structured along multi-jurisdictional lines, ADDs have both federal and state statutory authority.
